Jakob Egholt Søgaard on the frontpage of Weekendavisen

Jakob is talking about insights from his research on gender equality and the consequences of the recent introduction of earmarked parental leave.

Starting in August 2022, Denmark increased the number parental leave weeks for earmarked for the fathers from 2 to 11 weeks. Jakob recently engaged in a discussion with Weekendavisen, shedding light on the anticipated consequences of this reform for gender equality, and various factors that hold back fathers’ take-up of parental leave.

In collaboration with Thomas Jørgensen, their research highlights the critical role of full wage compensation for greater paternal leave take-up, especially when paired with earmarked parental leave.

Jakob Egholt Søgaard and Thomas Jørgensen''s research is not published yet.
