UNU-WIDER — UN DESA workshop on inequality

On 6 May 2019, UNU-WIDER and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) organized a workshop on inequality.

DERG Coordinator, Professor Finn Tarp, contributed at the event in the session 'Inequality in the developing giants: policy implications – part I'. His presentation discussed lessons learned in measuring and understanding trends in inequality within the UNU-WIDER work programme Transformation, Inclusion, and Sustainability.

During his term as Director of UNU-WIDER (2009-18), Professor Tarp made inequality a central work theme for the institute. This intiative will continue to be an integral part of UNU-WIDER's new work programme.
