Myanmar delegation attended SAM workshop in Copenhagen
A two-week workshop on Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) building and analysis was undertaken by the Development Economics Research Group (DERG) at the University of Copenhagen from 29 July to 9 August 2019.
Six Myanmar collaborators, including staff from the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) of the Ministry of Planning and Finance of Myanmar, discussed and reviewed with Dirk Van Seventer and other DERG members existing data for the development of a SAM prototype 2015. The workshop also included a introduction to Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling which will be pursued throughout 2020.
The event is part of the activities under the DERG project Towards inclusive development in Myanmar — a research collaboration with UNU-WIDER and the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) of the Ministry of Planning and Finance of Myanmar, supported financially by Danida.
